The comand media interface worked perfectly on both my ipod and iphone. I updated both to IOS 6.1, and now they aren't recognised - the batteries charge, detecting device, then no device is displayed.

Anyone have an IOS6.1 device working?

Oops. My phone is updating to 6.1 as we speak.

I think something has changed around the way the 'iPod' remote functions work - when I use the Viseeo bluetooth music streaming adapter ( ViseeO WMA1000 Tune2Air Bluetooth Audio Streaming iPod/iPhone Adapter | Mercedes iPod solutions | Mercedes Retrofits | Comand Online Ltd ) with IOS 6.0 the iPod interface is in locked mode, but on my colleagues 6.1 phone it is not locked any more. So they have changed something around locked mode

I will try 6.1 on Media Interface tomorrow when i'm back at home

Uploaded last night and now mine does not work. Does not even charge when plugged in.

Mine works fine? No problems since I updated. Mine is a 2012 car.

Uh-oh. Was on the point of updating the IOS to 6.1 on my iPhone and my wife's iPod yesterday but decided to hold off for a while to see if any gremlins creep out.

Will be watching this thread with interest.

There have definetly been some changes in the way the 'remote iPod' functionality works with 6.1 - the user interface is no longer locked out on the iPod (or the iPod program in the iPhone/iPod touch) when it used to be.

This is great, because it means with the Mercedes standard iPod kits where you control from the steering wheel controls, and with the WMA1000 you can control the music from the iPod).

I have talked to various people now, and know that for most (but clearly not all) 6.1 works fine with the more fancy iPod kits (such as Media interface).

So, why don't we use this thread to list what works and what doesnt at this point ?

I will post info in the next post about what I know ..

Chris, is yours one with NTG4 (opening/closing display) or NTG4.5 (facelift with fixed display) - of course MY2012 was the switchover, so there are cars sold new in late 2011 and early 2012 of both types.

OK, more on this. I tried my phone and ipod again, same non working results.

Both work perfectly via bluetooth, only the cable connection fails, but charges the device.

Borrowed a non-upgraded iphone 4, which worked. Ah ha, must be the upgrade.

Except ... I plugged the updated ipod in, and after some beeping it worked! I unplugged it and replugged it, and it was back to normal. Same with the iphone.

So, all working again.

No idea why, perhaps there is some profile on either Comand or the iphone that needs an update? A non-updated device forces it? Too clever for me!:dk:

Richard , mine is 4.5 ie the built in fixed screen. Been using it today with no problems as a phone.

OK, I bit the bullet and did an update to iOS 6.1 on my wife's - well, I don't want my stuff messed up :p - iPod Touch gen4 and can report that it still works fine connected to the Media Interface in her 2009 SLK (NTG2.5) and also the Media Interface in my 2011 W212 (NTG4). Interestingly, the "Charging is not supported on this device" message that it used to give on connection when on iOS 5.1.1 has now gone (not that it was true anyway, as it always charged fine attached to the Media Interface in both cars).

With this new-found confidence, I'll update my iPhone to iOS 6.1 in a couple of weeks time... ;)

When I tried my I phone 4 last night after doing update it did not appear to work at all but this morning I plugged it back in again ( I have 2013 w204 with audio 20 and media pack) and left it plugged in during my drive to work and after about 20 minutes it beeped, started charging and I was able to access it through car. Have not had a chance to try again as working but will plug it in on way home and see what happens.
