Went to Halfords yesterday spent a fortune on various car care products and some oil.

Anyway have had trouble finding a polish/wax I am happy with. The Meguiars Gold class polish caught my eye. in a nice box with a little application pad. A bit expensive I though at around £15 a bottle but non the less purchased it and thought I would give it a try last night.

Tried it on the Mini as this is solid Black so thought it would be a better result then on the Merc.

Wow was I impressed. Application was quick and removal just as quick probably 40mins in total on and off. Gleaming like new. So thoroughly recomend it to anyone after a new wax.

The tyre shine is superb too. :D

I agree, Gold Class Polish is easy to use and leaves a nice deep shine! Tire shine is good also, but a little messy to use!

Which tyre shine did you use? I have the gell stuff, but only used it once as after driving the car it splashed it onto the bodywork. I did buy the liquid the other day but I haven't tried it yet.

One thing I noticed about Gold Class is that it does not remove marks in the same way as a normal polish can, it purely is a wax so the paint needs to be perfect first.

Yeah when I have a few hours to spare i will give a proper polish. For that I have bought Auto Glym Super Resin Polish.

The trye spray is in a clear bottle. Supposed to be an adjustable nozle to fit the width of tyre tread. I have used the spray foam before but this gives a better finish although messey. Just need an old cloth to wipe the excess off.

Ah, I was talking about the gel. Gets real messy applying it with the sponges, and then as Richard says once you drive off it splashes everywhere!

So what is it?

Surely if it's a polish you apply it before applying a wax, not after?

Yeah was polished a couple of weeks back with some crappy Turtle wax so after a shammy was ok to give a quick wax to test it with.
