Hi All
I am new to forum but really enjoyed reading some of the threads.

Just about to take delivery of the above sometime next week. It drives great and in super condition.

Any things (mechanical , electrical etc) I should check before handing over my cash.

Cheers

W210 chassis?

Rust. Rust rust rust. Behind the rubbers on the tops of the doors. Wheelarches. Boot lid. Bottom of the bonnet grille.

The good news is that Mercedes will very often repair such things under manufacturer warranty, but only if you've owned it for more than 6 months (to stop traders getting the work for free and making a profit on the sale), and only usually with a majority MBSH.

Lower ball joints, broken road springs, noisey roll bar links and of course the rust issue......

Thankfully no sign of rust at all. All the door sills are good as well.

Not sure what engine it has except that it is 2.0 litre Kompressor. I see you guys all refer to a W.... reference. Where will I find out which one I have.

Do you know if I there is any kit you can buy for mounting Nokia hands free kit so I dont have to drill the dask console etc.

Cheers

Welcome!

Try taking a look here - they sell direct in some countries, others through agents. I've had a couple of mounts that were fine

Also remove the lower part of the back seat and check for rust around the battery area.
You may be surprised.

And check the front road spring cups where they join the body.

If you really want the car checking take it into your local MB bodyshop and ask them to check it.

Other than that they are a good motor with no real vices.

If it's had a change of gearbox fluid that's good along with antifreeze and brake fluid..
