Mercedes 170S spotted in body shop

I took my leased Beemer to be looked over for an estimate to tart it up prior to return at a body shop owned by a friend of my brother in law, and while chatting to the chap, noticed this in the corner:

The chap said it was a complete Mercedes 170S lhd that they were going to restore as a project at a later date, and wondered if I had any idea on what sort of value the car might have when completed. Not being a car I know anything about, I said I would see if I could find out anything. Any useful links or helpful sites that people know of, or any input greatly appreciated. Anything to help get the Beemer off my hands!

Blimey. I forwarded him the advert you linked so he evidently decided all the time and effort might not be worth it.

Edit - I hope my BMW comes out of the bodyshop looking better than that - BMW Finance might have something to say about it if I return it in that condition!

The oil filler cap nd the washer bottle look totally wrong on the green car - not something I'd expect with an asking price of 22 grand .

The White one looks a bargain at seven though - Colenel Klink had one , but I'd have thought a General rated at least a 230 .....
