Hi, Guys

We know someone has Mercedes and Smart workshop software and diagnosis tool, if you need them, just contact me.

does it have the appropriate leads & plug connectors for the different MB models

Hi, guys

As I know it costs $ 13500 Euro. It is original software, and 4/16/38 pin leads & plug connectors for the different MB models. There are DAS and WIS programs.

??You mistakenly put an extra 0 on the end of that figure or are you just having a laugh??

or is he saying that the lit costs this, but might be availible for our use for a nominal fee?

I'm working on a 38 pin diagnostic thing myself, but cant openly discuss yet (will be free to you lot...)

Richard at www.ibex.co.uk has been working on something like this for a while using Linux I think. not sure of progress as he has a day job as well .

I have a catalogue here, there is a PC, Windows based system with software, connectors, printer etc that works on ALL makes and models for a tad under £4000. Plus you get free monthly updates for 3 years.

Do Mercedes use the standard OBDII protocol to get data from the ECU?

If so, there are links at the above site for a Windows version, which just requires an OBDII adaptor. This should enable you to diagnose the car.

Does anybody know where the OBDII connector is located within the vehical? I have an N reg C180.

Cheers,

speak to prestige car specialists, they use an original star diags

The Star diagnosis use Windows NT4.0 to run DAS and WIS programs. And Mercedes use the standard OBDII cable to get data from the ECUs. The OBDII connector is located under dashboard. After 2000, it has been used OBDII, before 2000, use 38pin
connector (fuse box).

HELLO I AM JOEL AND I AM A APPRENTICE IN A MERC GRAGE AND JUST WANT TO NO THIS OBDII MY BOSS IS USE A STAR Mercedes BASIC DIAGNOSIS WIF WIS AND JUST WANT TO NO WILL THIS SOFTWEAR THAT DIAGNOSIS THE CAR WILL THAT SOFTWEAR WITH OBDII? HERE IS A LINK THAT MY BOSS IS USEING http://www.complexdiag.ru/modules.php?name=Star_diagnos LET ME NO THAX

I don't think he is joking about the extra zero. I know of this person and he sells these systems around the world but I have never purchased anything from him. I have my own system here in the states if anyone requires to use.

Yeah, these systems are expensive, but then what isn't when it comes to MB? I seem to remember my garage saying their system cost upwards of £8000, hence the £60 charge just for giving me a printout of the faults registered in the ecu.

Hi,

The best tool to use with MB is the OE STAR tester (can be bought for approx. £8K).

The Autologic tool comes quite close (approx. £7.5K)
Autodiagnos tool is getting better (approx. £7K multimake)
Launch tool is an unknown quantity but okish at the moment (approx. £3K multimake)
Winstar does less than you would expect (approx.£4K)
Sysokean ok for cars upto 2000 (approx. £2K multimake)
Bosch KTS651 ok and getting beter (approx. £5K)

OBDII and EOBD only covers emission related items. Not good for any other systems.

I would suggest that If you use an independent garage, make sure that they have AT LEAST one of the above machines.

regards,

Job
