The C 55 is the superstar AMG for running costs though, even the C 32 brakes cost quite a lot more from memory. The C 55 is probably the best value AMG and it takes some beating as a car too - best balance of traditional AMG and modernity.

Very true, last time I priced up front discs for my W202 C43 they were £556 for a pair.
