They are not that rare. Very pricey too. Bought a new but old stock one last year off german e-bay for €83.

I have a Sportline Gearknob with the Sportline logo as well as the dogleg manual gearshift pattern, originally came in a W124 Sportline coupe/saloon that was optioned with the getrag Dogleg box..... Rare car and even rarer gearknob....

Looks cool in a Dogleg boxed 190E Cosworth too.....

I was once given a box with 20 or so brand new ones of these...if only i had kept them and ebayd them now!! I think they sold for about £15-£20 each at the time.

Sorry but no. I like it too much. They do appear on e-bay pretty often but not many unused ones. Did not realise it at the time but I must have been very fortunate.

Does anyone know if these were an option over and above the sportline interior, suspension and wheels? I ask because my car has all the sportline options but not this knob (or wing badges for that matter)

Sportline was very much "pick and mix". The badges were showing as available new last year on Inchcape parts site. They were about £30 each. Unfortunately I have lost the part number but it is on the EPC if you have access.
