Adam you mentioned yesterday that owners have to take some precautions when washing the car again after a detail/paint correction.

What are they?

What are they?

To start off with you need to ensure your cloth's, sponge, or wash mitt is nice and clean, even better if they're new. Wash mitt's are my prefered choice as it traps the dirt in better with less risk or scratching. Give the car a good blast with a presure washer where available to remove as much of the grime as possible, you could also look at foaming to help loosen any dirt. Wash the car with two buckets, one filled with your soapy car wash and another filled with just clean water. Dip the wash mitt or sponge into the soapy bucket, wash a panel or two then place into the rinse bucket filled with clean water and give a good shake, repeat until the car is washed. Also start from the roof working downwards, leaving the lower doors, sills, and under the rear bumper till last. This is my wash method. Others may to things differently.
You then want to give the car a good rinse down with an open ended hose if possbile or a watering can, this should remove most of the water from the panels. When it comes to drying, it is recommend that you pat the car dry with a dedicated drying towel rather than swiping it across the paintwork. A quick detailer such as Meguiars Last Touch can also help aid the drying process.

Don't use washing up liquid or similiar as it will strip any protection on the vehicle, use a shampoo made for cars.
