Looking forward to our new Mercedes CLA Sport AMG delivery, which was promised for September 2013. Just visited dealer and been informaed that delivery will not now be until JANUARY 2014 (earliest) - does anyone else have this problem (or is it just me)?

The new B class, A Class , CLA coupe and the forthcoming GLA are all built in the new MB plant at Kecskemét Hungary.http://wwww.mercedes-benz.hu/das_mercedes-benz_werk/die_investition_in_kecskemet Such has been demand for these new models that deliveries have been slow. MB have subcontracted some of the A class manufacturing for some markets to VALMET in Finland to speed things up. However I suspect that its more a shortage of major component supply that is restricting production- in particular the new automatic gearbox which competes with its manual box sibling since they share many components and are made on the same gearbox production line. All I can suggest is asking your dealer.:dk:

squeeze the dealer for something complimentary as compensation for the wait.
A 3 month delay? That's worth something in my book.

My E63 ordered originally in February and promised in October will the same as you be available January'ish!

i've just found out that my e63, ordered in march, and originally due in july has been pushed back first to october and then this week back to january as well. at least the story we're hearing is consistent.

Hope you enjoy it

Sorry to be negative about your new car, but I had one out for the day recently and was very unimpressed, as follows .....

Good…

Car looks OK as long as you like the current MB style, seems to have excellent solid build quality, 3 rear seat belts, fuel efficiency, suspension very compliant on our bad roads, sound system seemed really good.

Not so good ……

Price!!!!!! - look what 1yr old MB's you could buy for the new price of a CLA.

Stop/Start – I know its on most new cars but on first acquaintance, not comfortable with it, apparently an EU regulation that it cannot be permanently turned off. The engine re-start came with a significant judder.

Mirror adjustment – either mirror is selected in normal way with switch (light comes on) and adjusted, however the selection is auto turned off (light off) after a short while, meaning a re-selection to further adjust.

Proximity sensors – at least I think that was made a double beep noise every time I passed a vehicle on the dual carriageway.

Parking Sensors – There is an indicator high in the central dash unit, that shows they are ‘activated’ below 20mph (I think), this means that it goes on and off constantly in town traffic. The car also came with ‘self parking’, perhaps this was why the light came on.

KPH indication – another real irritant, although its also on my CLS and apparently has been on all models for years. Dealer told me it was a UK import requirement!

Seating Not Occupied symbol – This came on every time I started up and drove away. Dealer suggested it was telling me that 3 of the remaining four seats were unoccupied!!!! And that if they had been occupied that the seat belts were not fastened.

Mirror reflection – the outer shiny air vent was clearly reflected in left and right mirrors.

Speedo, Tacho, fuel and and needles look like something from a kids toy, no design flair at all.

Overall - I did not like the car, was more impressed by the Nissan Note (£11,750) we had as a loan car same week when our Micra was in for service. This ex-demo CLA is now for sale at £34,999! Look at the CLS or E Class you can buy for that money.

You ordered with a pano roof at all? This seems to be delaying lots of orders at present.

Can't understand the delayed wait? We (or my wife!) recently ordered a new A class with a few factory options, they've given us proposed build and delivery dates, about 7 weeks in all from placing the order.

I have spoken to my contact this morning....CLA's deliveries in the UK have been pretty much suspended as of this week due to supply issues with pano roofs and wheels.

Any order of a CLA ordered at the moment WILL NOT be delivered until March 2014 and dealers have been told to inform buyers of this.

CLA250 AMG Sport 4Matic - Delivery

Exactly the same problem here ... ordered my CLA250 in the middle of July with delivery expected end of September. Delivery was knocked back by two weeks and then another two weeks taking me to the end of October. Phone call from my dealer today to let me know it is now scheduled for a December build slot and delivery now January 2014!! The problem seems to be with the supply of auto boxes to the factory. I'm now wondering if I'm going to suffer the double whammy of a price increase and a reduction in my p/x offer

Welcome to the forum, I love the styling of the new CLA, shame about the wait, but sure it will be worth it.
However, if they are not taking something in on part ex I would ask for a loan car, 4 months is a long time.

Don't worry about Effbee, for one he is from Norfolk so a bit backwards and two he now drives a Jag! ;)

I just don't understand why someone ordered a car in Feb, and delayed till Jan 2014!

When I ordered my S212 220 amg sport in August, I could have had E63 saloon or estate for immediate delivery, and was also told that should I need to factory order, it would arrived in October/November.

Seeing quite a few CLA's around London now.

As for the negative review, pretty sure 90% of those points would apply to any mercedes!

I ordered an A200 AMG Sport which was due April 4th, which was a 4 week delay by then. On the 4th of April the car still had not even been built.
On the 4th of April I drove home a new C220 AMG Sport Plus for the same deal as the A200. Still to this day I have no idea what the delay was all about.
