Hi everyone,

My W220 comand does not work properly; sometimes I cannot eject CDs and sometimes the command does not turn on. So, I was thinking about replacing it.

What are good alternatives to the Mercedes comand?

Thanks!

Do you mean as in an aftermarket double din unit that will fit?

If so, we replaced our Comand with an Alpine INE-W947E. 7" screen, Navigation all the bells and whistles including the reversing camera if you want one.

Although, as I found out on this forum, the Comand controls the clock time setting so that will need to be changed.

If replacing your Comand then factor in fitting an amplifier as well. What year is your car?

You could select a decent Alpine or Kenwood as an alternative to the Comand but before you do, make sure you can get a fascia adapter for your particular model and if you have BOse you will need an amplifier too.

I have a 2004 S500 with the Bose sound system. It seems that the aftermarket comands are very pricey compared to the OEM comand.

I think that I will stick with an OEM command. Does anyone know where I can source one in good condition?

I've read somewhere that there are several comand versions; 2.0 etc.. Which one actually fits in a 2004 W220?

Thanks!!!
