Hi,

My friend has managed to hit the kerb realy hard on the N/S front wheel.
The wheel, wishbone, stub axle and steering end ball joint are now changed but the wheel it sitting an inch back as appose to where it should be.

Also I have replaced the wheel.

Therefore the gap between the wheel and wing is only about a inch or so.
I need to bring the wheel forward towards the bumper.

Does anyone know why this might be? ie something else is bent/need aligning

Is there any adjustment in the wishbone settings.

I thought it would be a good idea to find out before even attempting.

Could the sub frame be bent?

Your advice will be appreciated.

Anyone have any idea, put the car on a ramp today and even the MOT cant see anything bent, he suggests alignment.

Is the such alignment on the wishbone or is it fixed?

He's probably moved the lower wishbone mounts back. If they mount to the chassis you'll need to bend or jig them back. If they mount to a subframe then the subframe (and possibly its mounts) will be bent

If he's moved the wheel back an inch there's no adjuster in the world that'll put it back in the right place. It needs sorting properly then an optical alignment

Totally agree. best go to an accident repair place and have a chassis alignment done. My bet is a bent chassis. repairable but not by the likes of me and my kind.

Chaps many thanks,

I'm thinking of getting another sub frame, as I think this would be at least a start because its most likely bent.
