I recently changed my CLK on a 56 plate to a 08 ML W164 Comand fitted to both.
I had fitted in my CLK a Mercedes iPod kit which I removed.
My question is will it run in the ML.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.

it may run, however you may be able to have media interface which is better

have a chat with braybrooks, i had the ipod kit which i found naff as only i could choose songs through the steering wheel and view on the instrumnt cluster.

they changed it to the media interface which merc wouldnt do for my earlier model

so the answer to your question is maybe but consider something more user friendly and better

If your ML has Comand NTG2.5 (it has a SD card slot above the DVD slot) then it will support Ipod interface or Media Interface.

The CLK and ML ipod kit is the same. I think you just need the aux input shell to convert it to work with NTG2.5.

Comand Online sell the part in their NTG2.5 retrofit kit so should be able to supply it and advise you.

Interesting I was told by MB that only the iPod kit could be fitted which I had done and your right it is total naff :-)

yeh, thats what merc told me about the c320, but on my wifes c350 theres the much better media interface, so i thought it odd that i couldnt have it as the 350 isnt even facelifted. The chap at braybrooks told me this is because the merc guys havent been trained/authorised to do it but luckily he could. needless to say the ipod kit was discarded!

worth asking the question!

It depends on what stereo you have as it has to have fibre optic connection to support the Media Interface. MB removed the fibre optic connection on the standard Audio 20 units. It is however on Audio 20 units with built in 6 disc changer.

I have comand with harmon kardon and cd changer and merc still told me this!

Yes MI can be retrofitted to the car as you have fibre already.

Thanks to all for your interest and comments regarding my post

Sorry if this sounds thick but if the ML is fitted with Comand NTG2.5 is iPod integration standard or is anything extra required.

Looking at a 2009 ML 320CDi with COMAND over the weekend and wondering what extra I'm going to be in for to get iPod integration.
