Mercedes V8 engine transplant in another car?

The wiring for the engine isn't a problem as I tend to use Megasquirt ecu's with the fuel injected sbc's that I build, I was more interested in the auto gearbox and how it interacts with the engine etc. To be fair it's just a mental exercise at the moment, as most people want an American V8 in their cobra be it Ford or Chevy. Thanks all for contributing.

Found a thread from a few years ago about transplanting MB V8s, and mentions MB auto gearbox integration, There is link to a guy on Utube who can do it and offers some sort of service to enable it.
Have a read/watch, might not be of any use but worth looking
