Mercedes W211 2003 320 cdi aircon issue

Hi Guys.
I have the above car. Air duct of driver sides are blowing normal fan air and passage side is blowing cool air. Mercedes Manchester last year changed dual valve and now thus year I have same issue it was under 1 year Warren ty so I went there and they advised there is a condenser leak. But if it was a condenser leak how come cool air was coming???
Now there is no gas at all.
Please help. They charged me last year £280.

I've had this problem every 3 years for the last 11 years (W211 E270CDi), usually accompanied by a hissing from the aircon. I've always found that a re-gas solves the problem, so no longer worry about it. I suspect that the lack of gas means that only the part of the condenser matrix near to the gas input is cooling down and its that section that feeds the passenger side. The driver side is feed from the other section of the matrix that's not receiving any gas when the level is low.

Oh ok. So it'd not a condenser leak?

Well it is a leak of sorts, but I find that a re-gas every 3 years is much cheaper then trying to chase down the actual leak.

Just a quick question front suspension give knock sound when car hit any ditch on the road. I showed to few garages they say everything is ok.
Any ideas?

Top or bottom ball joint needs replacement, once every 4 years for me on my bad local Bucks roads. It's a relatively cheap job as most Mercedes independents are geared up to do it quickly.

Yes, but it's not simple if you have the 6 disk CD changer as that uses the aux input.

That's fine. I am willing to loose cd changer but how to make that into aux?
