Midlands Mini-GTG

About time we had one of these bad boys, and we usually have one in September when the nights start drawing in.

Previous mini-GTG have involved looking at some MBs, talking about MBs, eating, and few beverages.

ALL ARE WELCOME.

I've set up a vote for dates: Thursday 23 September, and Thursday 30 September.

Venues in and around Lichfield have proven popular, but I've suggested a couple more ideas below:

• Bowling Green in Lichfield - the usual
• OK Diner in Cannock - great in the dark with neons and chrome
• Wimpy Chalet on Milford Common, near Stafford - loads of space an a rare opportunity to eat a bender on the common

Any other suggestions?

I've never been to a GTG but it's not far from me and sounds good. OK diner's ok I think - is it the place that used to be a curry house ? Maybe pop up in my 190. 23rd would be good.

Im up for thurs 30th but at what time? lunch or evening?

As far as location is concerned how about a little further south at "the Bulls Head" Meridan that has a great car park.

Actually, its very likely that ill be away on the 23rd (if my wife gets her way) so 30th is better for me...

Not sure of my movements on those days yet either but in principal I am up for any of the dates, OK diner sounds good.

Trying to get to as many as possible this time will be at the Derbyshire meet on 29th and the Scottish meet on 4th

It seems Thursday 30 September was the 5:1 favourite so that's what we'll go for.

I propose we try Milford Common. There's a big car park, with a nice pub (Barley Mow), great fish & chip restaurant/takeaway (Little Fawn), and the crowing jewel - the Wimpy Chalet!!

In case you're curious what a Wimpy Chalet is, it's a teeny Wimpy in what's best described as a shed. You order at the shed window - you're outside, and the person taking your order is flipping the burgers on the other side of the window. Can you tell I like it??!!

It's the only place I know where it's completely normal to eat a cheesey bender on the common with plenty of sauce.

I propose we meet in a quiet corner of the Barley Mow car park from around 1900.
