Minor glove box light irritation

Just noticed my glove box does not illuminate when it is opened, all other small interior lights do work. swapped the bulb out, original bulb is working in other fittings looked in the fuse area and it would appear that there is no 5a fuse in slot 65 which just so happens to be for "glove compartment lamp"
Guess what i do not have 1 full size bloody fuse in my toolbox everyone is mini will pop out today at some stage and get some. Can anyone think of any other reason why it would not be working and why the fuse is missing?

The switch that operates the light has failed in the 'on' position and the fuse has been pulled as a quick fix?
