r class
HI
I bought a 2007 r class at the weekend. The sat nav dvd was missing and the garage advised that they would send it on to me. It was a long day and I had a 350 mile trip with 2 kids in the back so I took them at their word. Now that I have had a chance to think about it a little more I am wondering where the sat nav dvd would get put in. I cant find a navigation drive in the car. I just assumed the dvd went into the slot on the command system console. Starting to worry that the missing navigation drive if it should exist has went to the same place as the missing sat nav DVD. I hope not as I imagine I will have a battle on my hands getting the dealer to help me here.

So my question is does anyone know were the navigation drive would be located if there should be one there?

Hi & welcome,
at a guess its either in the boot behind a panel that opens or in the glove box.

This is what you're looking for..

Thanks I will have a look. It's not inside the car so my last hope is it's in the boot. Do any of the command units have the navigation drive built into the comand unit on the dash?

Your manual should tell you. On my S211 it's behind the LH boot side trim panel, and it's at all obvious if you don't know it's there.

I put a dvd into the command unit and it does not recognise the disc. I think this is telling me that the unit does not take dvd so sat nav dvd must go into a separate navigation drive.Had a good look in the boot and can't see a navigation drive. There is a big plastic casing which says harman kardon on it which is located in the boot. Have not opened this up . Any chance the navigation drive could be stored in there? Really hoping the missing dvd is not sitting beside a missing navigation drive in somebody's house.

2007 R class is NTG2, and the head unit DVD drive is the Nav drive. Switch to nav screen, Put in the disk and wait. It may well say disk unrecognised if you are on the DVD screen as its not a video DVD

Just shows that we learn some thing new every day.

Just spent an hour doing a forensic investigation of the car looking for the nav drive. Conclusion not there. Thanks for your input Richard and the others who replied. This issue was starting to take the gloss off my purchase. The garage are trying to locate the DVD disk for the sat nav.

My next question is can my 2007 system take a nice up to date disk? I have a suspect somebody has pinched the disk so they will need to get me a new one.
