We requested a brochure for the GL whilst we were at the Goodwood Festival of Speed some months back. It only arrived last week - which I thought wasn't too clever. 
Now I know why - it was because MB have been planning experience events for potential customers, and the timing of the brochure was to coincide with invitations to the event!! Much clever-er-er!!
When we bought the ML I was gutted I didn't have chance to attend the ML off-road driving experience, as we didn't buy the car new. Thanks to Blassberg I have the book and free air intake plug for wading though!!
The invitation is for a 2 hour slot only, but includes on-road and off-road driving, refreshments, etc - all at MIRA near Nuneaton in Warwickshire, that in itself is a fascinating place. Apparently there are four other regional venues too.
If you fancy a go, best request a brochure quicksmart!!
Now, must make sure that my wife resists the temptation to say on the day:
"Definitely a GL420 CDi, but silver or black, silver or black, black or silver ...oh you've twisted my arm, let's go with silver"
