ML Tyre replacement pairs or all 4?

Does anyone know offiically what the procedure for replacing tyres on an ML is?
Can I do them in pairs or do I have to do all four. Seems harsh to replace four when only one is damaged.

I suppose it depends how worn they are?

As the ML has full-time 4WD, unevenly worn tyres would result in the front and/or rear and/or centre differential running at different speeds, which can be no good.

So if your other tyres are reasonably new I would only replace the damaged tyre, or at most those on the same axle, but all four if they are worn.
