Someone asked me to post a better pic showing my old ML on the later W164 19" wheels.
I am running these on 235.55.19 tyres which fit perfectly.
Also should mention the tyres, Goodyear EfficientGrips, someone said they had them on their S Class and were ridiculously quiet and comfortable compared the Continentals they replaced, he was right.
I have never known such a quiet and comfy tyre, it is more comfortable on the 19s with those tyres than the 17s were with Michelin Latitude Tour HP tyres, which were 235.65.17s as well.
I added a 20mm hubentric spacer to mine, which added £100, but had been recommended this guy as never an issue with them, and there isn't.
They needed it as they fouled the brakes without.
I also need longer wheel bolts, 65mm instead of the W163 bolts of around 27mm.
Needed to go to at least 44m with the new wheels as the hub is deeper, and then another 20mm for the spacers.
Sorry for the waffling, but thought it would answer any questions as I found loads of posts asking if it was possible but never any proper answers on anything but ML500s and 55's in the States which may have had bigger brakes etc. And even then the answers were split over multiple threads etc.
