I agree, but:


1. Mine is a 4-pot M271 producing mere 143bhp

I don't think it needs specialist oil.


2. The original spec for my engine is 229.3 so when using 229.5 I am already over-specifying the oil spec...


So yes you are right but it probably does not make much difference to engines at the lower end of the pecking order
