My 210 has gone in for accident repairs.
The garage pointed out the amount of rust: all 4 wheel arches, boot and 2 doors. They suggested I take it to the main dealer and try a warranty claim. Although I have a full service history, it is largely from an independent specialist, which is why I've not tried before. Would they be likely to consider it?

I would like to find that out as well, my last two services have been carried out by independent specialist's.

Had the same on my CLK W208 200k (2000). No recent Mercedes history and got the whole lot done under waranty no questions asked.

My 210 (model year 99) has had new bonnet, 2 x f wings and tailgate replaced - all under goodwill. Just 2 months ago i asked dealer to check the spring perches and cross member - they replaced the spring perches despite any clear evidence of potetial failure (i played the safety/liability card) - crossmember was fine. The dealer told me the spring perches were covered under the 'safety' (10 year warranty).

I tried this with my 1998 C43 and got a big kick in knackers from mercedes its now going in to be done in my mates bodyshop on tuesday thank god for mates rates!!!!!
