More Downforce.

Sorry to say it again but its a monstrosity that I wld expect a 19 year old with a corsa to have bolted to its **** and blvd me every car driver will be looking and saying what a knob he's bolted an ironing board to his boot

Has it put your insurance premium up, I presume you have advised them that an aftermarket item has been fitted? Each to their own though, personally it looks bloody awful and on the normal UK roads completely pointless. My C63 doesn't feel twitchy at very high speeds (on my private test track) so perhaps there is an issue with your coupe and lets be honest, how often does one / can one travel over 90+ mph on the busy ****e UK roads these days?

9. On a more serious note - SPX - no mate the boot works as per normal, opens and closes fully without hitting rear window or roof. What I have found though, as its now a fraction heavier, the boot has a tendency to close on its own while your getting the shopping out and hits your head.Ouch!

I like the idea of what you've done, the engineering thought you've put into it and also the "**** you world, I'm doing it anyway" attitude.

The funny thing is that one of the most vocal of haters on this thread fitted cheap fake wheels to his car and then has the audacity to rip into you...

Congrats to the OP for showing a bit of ingenuity in order to remedy an issue that from the sounds of it was unresolved by both Mercedes and the muppets on here Jules.

So you have done the maths and worked out the fluid dynamics and concluded that we are all " muppets".

Wing = Drag. So slowing down may give the same effect. Then again you could go really mad and look at tyres, wind effect, drag compared to roof = distance.

Or finally. Placebo.

Guess that's aimed at me so look at my wheels and tell me other than the 1500 price they are identical to genuine ones this wing is not a replica of anything other than an ironing board

I fail to see the comparison my comment was aimed at the look of the spoiler not its quality
I fail to see the comparison with my wheels or even the need for the sarcasm
And if OEM is so superior why do so many c63 have issues with cracked alloys

Just pointing out the hypocrisy in you getting all uppity when C36fan gives his opinion about your modding choices then you get all lairy with the OP about something he's done to enhance the actual drive of his car, not the looks.

You don't mind vitriol...sarcasm is the problem?

I fail to see how that has improved the drive of the car unless tracking it which he isn't and that can only mean driving at absurd speeds on the road
Is anyone honestly saying it looks good I mean really

Please lads, stop now!, enough is enough.
I wish i had never posted this bloody thread now.
But just for the record.
The wing, as stated came from Elite Carbon Fibre in Norfolk. Dave the owner worked for Lotus Cars for some time, working on many projects for them, probably thats why you see so many Lotus cars fitted with a rear wing.
Its all on his web site, for all to see.

PS. I have enquired about wind tunnel testing at Mira, they have a slot a week next Thursday. Its around £80k ( seriously!) , as i have to pay for 4 engineers etc.
Halfords are up first with a new bike rack, then JML are testing a new ironing board for Wilkinsons, then me.

It's great fun. Safety rules probably prohibit it these days but standing in a full size wind tunnel is great fun. Not sure it's worth £80k though... :thumb:

My apologies to the op for my choice of words I just think a black series wing wld have not devalued and looked a zillion times better and achieved the same

Wow !!

How much would it cost to have one supplied and fitted to my c63?

It might keep the pensioners away from it with their keys!

;)
