Evening all

My cars been really putting me trough the mill off late , since September this year its been off the road more than on it .

its a 211 E 200 kompressor , so far ive had to replace both cam sprockets cam chain and an intake hall sensor .
The head gasket then want and this was replaced along with various other seals .
Ive been using the car again since monday , its now looking for coolant again ,and its still drinking petrol , only managing 22 mpg . Iv had the car connected to STAR and to other engine code readers and theres no faults showing . :wallbash:

Im now at a loss as what to do , I dont want wasting any more money on it , any help or suggestions would be vert welcome

Pressure test coolant system! Did you only look for codes or check actual values with regard to emission control, whats the actuation time for fuel injectors, has it got any air leaks.

Id done this tests before I changed the HG , as regards the live data reading , i did check these values , and I didnt see any thing that looked wrong , but I may not know what to lool for either .

Theres also another message that shows up , it Engine oil visit workshop .
I know the oil is in good condation , its only been changed and the level is correct . I think this is the oil sensor , maybe coolant damaged it when the HG was leaking , could this be right

Did you get the head skimmed when you changed the CHG? If not it may blow again very quickly. Are you sure the valvegear is timed correctly- don't think this would register with a fault code.

In the morning, when the engine is cold (and stopped) remove the radiator cap to release any residual pressure, replace the cap, start the engine and run for a couple of minutes ( not to get it hot! ) , stop the engine and remove the radiator cap, if there is pressure in the system the head gasket is probably leaking. If there is no pressure then try running the car with the rad cap only on the first catch, if it is OK then you probably have a leak somewhere else ..........

Thanks for the reply lads ,

I checked the car for exhaust gases in the coolant ,the test was postive . The head was skimmed , so im thinking I have a warped or caraked block . Im gonna look into what may be the beat way foward , do i try to rebuild my engine with a new block or buy another engine ??

what would be best

What year is your car mate ? could have a crack in the cylinder head

The cars an 03 , i had the head pressure tested when it was off , it was fine the valves sealed good and the was no cracks .
I think the block could be warped slightly and the head was off at cylinder 4 , also when the engine was striped the back passenger side head bolt sheared as it was loosened . i think this bolt may have been cracked and his could of caused the head warpege and maybe the caused the block to move too .
I think ill strip the engine back down and have the block tested , and if its warped ill see about getting it milled level .
