Take a look at the picture of the back of this unit.

The two connectors on the rear to the right (yellow and blue) are both broken. They should both have the same shape as the green one on the left. That unit has clearly been ripped out of a car in a hurry. Draw your own conclusions from this!

If someone buys a stolen unit, would the dealer know when the car is taken in to have the COMAND unit coded in by Star?

Having (a few years ago) gone through a spate of having radio/cassette units nicked from my cars, this was something that bothered me about having COMAND. I gather nicking units from Fords is very popular and the units are so easily interchangeable.
