Dear Fellows,
I would like to know how the attached power mirror switch works. My W124 E220 has this, but the knob was broken by the time I bought the car 2 months ago. I just need to adjust my mirrors, even if this is only once.
I know that replacing it is very easy, but at this time I can't remove the center console due to a damned gear-lock they installed on the car. Since I also had to remove the after-market alarm system due to battery draining, the gearlock remains the only 'protective' device (for insurance purposes). I will install an alarm system soon.
In the meantime, what movements are supported on this switch? Does it only rotate clockwise/anticlockwise, or does it also do other 'fancy' movements? How does one actually choose which mirror to adjust, and also how do you make mirror till in the different directions just from this switch alone?
A schematic of the switch, or even the whole electric mirror system would be most appreciated.
