Mr Indecisive is spoilt for choice

Raise the tailgate and give a corner a wiggle...

No because it might bend the entire car :) I'm not saying its a g wagon but I do really like it.

Update on this, the car has been faultless its not a Merc and some bits look crappy but it's so good as a family / kid tool plus I love the smooth relaxed ride.

But the cvt box and small (none v8) engine are less than ideal as such I've asked Anna to have it and we will sell the nitro (which gas given no trouble in 3 years) she us happy to take it.

I still have the E500 cab that hasn't turned a wheel since the murano arrived and will be sold at a huge loss but that's my issue it it was a E250 Cdi doubtless it would lose less but that's not for me

Now here's the conundrum - the natural successor to the murano is an infinity FX50 v8 a more unloved car you will struggle to find. It's a updated rebodied murano made in the USA that hasn't taken off here, £30k gets a 3 year old one that WBAC will give you £14k for (I always do this shock test) but I accept this, what's odd is the namer has no aftermarket warranty ie factory backed warranty you have to use warranty direct or similar which concerns me.

I'm getting low balled on px'ing the E500 so will try to sell it myself - I may be some time ;-)

I think the E500 has sold at under £24k which is better than px. I am undecided what to get but as any car is just for getting to work and carting kids about these days I'm not spending more than I have to. There is something relaxing and satisfying having a car your not that bothered about and I want to replicate this murano feeling with my next car.
Looked at A8 sport, infinity fx50, shogun and once again the honda legend ........

Can't believe I'm going to suggest this but what about a XJ?

What does the fx50 sound like? Those pipes look substantial.

DS - I can't keep up with your travails but I enjoy the journey Bonkers!

+1, as they say on another motoring forum!

You're saving me a fortune in time and money - such is the detail provided, it's as if I was doing myself. :)

I've analysed my own decisions in car use and decided I don't actually like power laden super saloons even though I have had loads of them, maybe it's age hitting 50 recently, maybe fatherhood having twins last year but it first hit me in the jag in 2010 the Xfr I hated it, always wanting to change down and race. The E500 cab is too small and girly never bonded but it sounds lovely. Of recent cars the CL500 was my fave do maybe an s class ? - maybe but I have to restate this murano fits my new life perfectly. So the infinity is a no brainer? Well shocking residuals help but I can't bring myself to spend £30k on it when the £10k murano us only missing a v8.
Once the e500 is collected we can move forward !
(My local indie (google t Williams Birkenhead) has a lovely jag in next to a lovely a8)

You like the Nissan, but not the quality. You miss the V8.

I'm thinking FFRR V8.

Cheshire Police nicking me for speeding with a hidden laser camera scared me - I'd generally driven to the conditons until then but it made me realise just how easy it is to get caught. If the conditions allow a bit of speed the Police and Camera Partnerships know and they see it as a revenue opportunity.

If you're going to bimble everywhere at the speed limits then a 5L V8 becomes a bit pointless. You might as well get one of those plug-in engine sound generators!

I have bought a last edition fx50 with curvy grill - huge discount and good px. It was this or save £15k and get a lexus 460 in the end I love the murano so much I have to have a v8 one. The v8 sounds good but can have a custom exhaust I may look into.
Not everyone's taste or style but it will do me!

Oh and e500 sold to a Scottish chap yay

Congrats, that's a rare beast. Have only seen a couple of the diesels on the road.

Deal was - first some background into thought pattern - as a family were never mainstream with cars since I gave up visiting customers in 2005 I make it a mission to vary my cars and experience stuff. So we had a dodge nitro for Anna and a e500 cab as our two cars (we cant afford 3 now we have kids) I was wrong on the E500 it's not a drop the kids off car it hurt my back etc so a spec was drawn up and only the murano or a rx lexus fitted it but the murano was much cheaper and I crave warrantys and dealer experience it's my thing. Both of us blown away with murano so much so Anna demanded it and I absolutely recommend one as a family hold all with a degree of ownership satisfaction - I love it. So after lots of thought to my next car and having £8k in the nitro to play with I looked for a 4wd (essential as kids go to a farm pre school down muddy little roads that might get icy, I've never had to think of this stuff before) short list was Honda Legend 2008 £10k, lexus Ls460 2007 £15k, lexus rx 2008 £18k, infinity fx50 2010 £26k
If the blue legend in Scotland was near me and at a better dealer I would have it now - it's still there and a bargain for someone.
Ls460 a 2007 is £20k at a lex dealer I want newer but they jump with the 600h quite a bit but it was close found a lovely £15k one on 50k if anyone's interested.
RX - same power as the gs450 and boring no BUY ME feeling
Fx - raved about on PH and on my radar for a year in V8, negatives are dealer proximity and lack of a extended warranty backed by infinity. The ph updates helped me and I had 3 choices, one in trader at a rover dealer appealed but the E500 was not wanted I was offered £20k it cost me £30 in June!! So I knew I had to sell the E privately - eventually it sold for just under £24k on Tuesday better than £20k!! The rover dealer car was 61 plate up for £29k taking £26k but looked well used for 16k miles but the hull infinity car was £38k it was 62 plate face lift though. 3rd option was one of the phers cars could be for sale at £25k 61 plate.
THE DEAL
I called hull, was polite and offered £30k in cash, credit or px they were lovely in not telling me to get lost but worked a deal taking Anna's nitro at over book (cap) and significantly significantly ! dropping the fx price to a deal I am delighted with. Pm me if anyone is genuinely after a car as they are ex infinity VIP publicity cars used to ferry people about etc they have more on drip supply.
However - I am obsessive with new to me cars and expect expensive ones to be prepped 100% so if I have a snag list up to a month after receipt the car will be collected and sorted - I'm not running up to Stockport for niggles this was agreed - I an technically to far from Stockport for the collect service.
So next week after a heavy valet of the nitro I go to hull and drive home in another interesting car, one I HAVE to keep for a few years. I will fully write up the buying experience note I have had 2 Lexi and can compare !!!
I haven't ruled out a cheap convertible either if the new website continues to deliver!!!!

Nice choice! Only seen one or two here but loads in Russia! Sounds great when pushed and has serious road presence! One of our friends in Russia's son has one in black and it really is a lovely car. I'm envious! :)

Thank you DSL for the detailed reply. I first came across the Infiniti in the US a few years back and thought they were stunning, still do. There aren't many SUVs I would class as desirable - engine, looks, limited number on the road etc.

It's definitely one on my got-to-experience list should I get tired of the Germans soon.

(Legend and LX aren't 4WD are they?)
