Mr Sheen as a car polish?

I used to own a fibreglass Reliant Scimitar and used Mr Sheen after someone recommended it for fibreglass cars. I'm not sure what difference the base material under the paint made but the car came up well, though only for a few days before it started to dull. Good for when selling I guess!

Interesting thread, bought a AG Instant Show Shine the other week... i swear it smells like Pledge. Looks like it too if you spray on thick...

Sorry but Pledge users are missing the point.

Polishing a car is supposed to be an expensive, time consuming & back breaking experience.

Little known fact is that many waxes contain secret additives which mean they only work properly when human misery is added. The more misery, the more they shine.

In fact the really exotic ones only produce that oh so special deep shine when they detect the user has OCD.

I've been using furniture polish on my crash helmet and visor for many years. Woks very well indeed.

This reminds me of a certain silver AMG owner with new shiny wheels :D

For all those commenting about it making water 'bead', water beads on cars are NOT a good result, they cause drying marks and contain dirt and grit..

- if you want a REALLY good finish to a vehicle, the water should 'sheet' off the bodywork

There is ONE great product for Glass however and that is Mr Muscle Shower Shine as it helps stop dirt and road grime sticking to the windscreen - or, if you want to do it properly, RAIN-X is excellent on the raked windscreen of the SL 350

Neither are recommended for front windscreens let alone paint.

By its very nature, water that beads will have a much greater chance of run off.

Obviously good for making Chinese food too, plus the added advantage of no woodworm.:D Woodworm on your helmet makes your eyes water.

I'd be interested in what is actually in these products before dismissing any after all the really expensive ones have "secret" formulas that as far as I know could be Mr Sheen! :D

Mr. Sheen'd mine the other day and I was impressed. Put two coats on and still have more than half a can (even after cleaning my desk with it lol)

Had a co-worker comment on it too, first word was, "it even smells nice!"

10 mins to run round the car after it drying it off and 5 mins to clean the residue off the windows with Autoglym fast glass. Works in direct sunlight, no buffing - perfect.

I'll reapply a coat after the weekly wash so durability isn't a problem. :)

just did a Mr sheen on my white w202 estate..great stuff as a quick detailer and just as good as any specialist cost a fortune jobby..mr sheen does it again :)

Is it safe to use on a new car

Is it that good

Will it remove scratches
????? Confused

If ever you got to have a paint job the silicone will be a nightmare and react with the new paint. I heard of it ages ago to remove stains from cloth upholstery though.

It's crap. Paint sprayers nightmare. And if used inside it just keeps building up layers of silicone that will end up like a skin of gluey crap. If you do use it keep all windows down it can kill if used in a confined spaces. And come on you are talking about mercs here not some pile Japanese bling. Come on pull yourself together and buy some quality auto polish.
