That is interesting, especially considering the Mercedes results in swvo auction at the end of January.

I had a Mreg Capri 1300 Xl in stardust silver back in the 70s. That white one has the wrong wheels on. Would love to have a drive of one again, loved mine even though there was more pull in a witch's tit in it.

My first car was an 87/D Opel Manta 2.0 GTE Exclusive.

I quite fancy having another drive of one but I can well imagine it will be a disappointment.

Reminds me of my trip to a classic auction in 2012 http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/129294-my-trip-barons-classic-car-auction.html
I wrote then "The Ferrari 308 was absolutely lovely and with a guide price of £13-£15K I was seriously considering it. The hammer price of £22K + premium didn’t look such good value, however."
I actually bid £18k on it but thought it was too much.:fail
What's a nice 308 worth now? £80k-£100k

The 220s that got to the low £40ks is currently for sale for £100k

Are we due a classic car price correction?

I think we might be, a sense a little pessimism in the air generally
