As posted previously and bumped back up to tie the two posts together.

My first test drive was shocking, customer care was embarrassing.

The second test drive.
I phoned on the Sunday and booked a test drive for the Tuesday, my A3 was getting serviced at Carlisle Audi and I was getting a courtesy car so I thought I would take a spin to Newcastle Mercedes (yes I know there is a MB garage in Carlisle but have been in before and didn't hit it off with a member of staff who I found short), I arrived just after 11am at Newcastle and got my test drive with a very knowledgeable fella who took time to explain the car and what all it did including the parallel park system. This wasn't even mentioned in a previous test drive, oh yes I even got to drive the 250Amg this time. Lovely car to drive, was very impressed. I also took to the fella, a genuine decent bloke and I always think people buy from people.
Once back he asked if I wanted figures to see if there was a deal to be had. I did. Even after mentioning carwow he still did his best, he asked what discount was being offered and I told him around the 23% mark. He did say it would be depending on getting a car for this first quarter but would match the deal being offered online.
So I got the car ordered.:D:D
A beautiful C 250AMG with a premium pack and the night pack.:D:D:D
I hope to be getting her this week!
Thanks to you all for the information that is available on this site, I am sure I will be back with more questions over the coming weeks.
This will be my first venture away from Audi A3's for 14years, so fingers crossed I have picked the right car.;)

Well done, sounds like a great purchasing experience. I like the low pressure, soft sell you got there and the line about figures and a "deal to be had" - very inviting ;-) A mate of mine had an A3 we somehow got two racing bikes in the back of. That and the build quality were impressive. Yesterday, MB Aachen loaned me an A220d 4MATIC and whilst it annoyingly didn't have any Satnav maps loaded, it does have some of the same features of my new S-Class (COMAND, fast screen, haptic feedback through the steering wheel when line crossing. Was like...hmmm. In AMG spec they're a good looking car too. From your post, I sense the same giddy excitement of your impending new car arrival, that I had. Unlike me though, maybe you'll get champagne to top it off!
