As i have owned my C43 for just over a year now i thought i would post up my progress so far. It was not a bad example when i bought it, but bit by bit i am bringing it upto a condition and spec that i am happy with :D

Here is the car as i bought it, was standard apart from alot of ICE install

First was to put my private plate on it, full service and check over. A weekends cleaning, all door panels, door handles, trims off and the dent man round to get rid of every car park dent. Then my mate round to spend three evenings detailing the car.
Was very pleased with the result :D

Then colour coded door handles put on, door shuts cleaned, window mechanisms and locks lubricated and door trims put back.

Then had a nasty Motorcycle accident so the progress was on hold for 4 months :(

Next time for a De-Cat and a much better exhaust note :D

Then a set of K&N's

Next was a Brake upgrade to the Front, putting on CLK55 AMG W209 Discs and Calipers.

Then some Bilstein shocks

Then onto Silverstone to go on the MB Club stand at Trax 2011 :)

Next was to tackle the dreaded Rust :(

First i bought a secondhand bootlid in the same colour which was rust free. Had the outside totally stripped down to check for no rust ( which luckily had none ;) ) then painted to a exact match.

All built up and just the finishing touches to do including new badges.

Next was to replace the rusty front wing, did not want to mess about trying to get rid of existing rust so bought a brand new genuine MB wing. Got it painted back and front and had the lip coated in rubberised stone chip before the top coat.

Next to replace it..

Then to build up the courage to remove the sill panels

Not too bad, but i wanted to get rid of and cut out any rust that would cause a problem in the future. We ground back anything we could see in the door shuts and on the underside and treated everything. Welded in a couple of panels especially near the jacking point to add strength.

Interesting thread, looks like you are doing a great job, please keep us informed as you progress!

Then into the oven to have the sills stone chipped and top coated. Also the side sills taken right back, prep and painted.
