My C43 AMG on going project

Mate you have really inspired me to get on with my c43 by reading this thread

Well done pal
Excellent work

Justin, as so many others have already said, this has been a fabulous project and thread. Having just started my C43 ownership, I think that if I can achieve half of what you have, I'll be happy!

Cheers mate, yeah it is effectively finished and I use it every day for work. Did do my six monthly gearbox and torque convertor oil and filter change last week.
Got another pair of tubular manifolds to fit in the new year when I can be bothered.

Hi Justin How are you doing?
Regarding the rear diff are you fitting the LSD to your original 43 Diff? Or are you going to attempt to fit the 55 Diff? If you did you would have done exactly what AMG did when they did the 202 55 special, and would make your car even more desirable IMO.
If you haven't already get yourself an agreed value insurance policy, after all the hard work you have put into it, it would be heart breaking if anything happened to it. I know after losing my C43/55 202 recently I was totally gutted though I did put a lot of work into it over the years not as much as you have. Your car has to be worth 5 figures minimum now possibly more as it is such a sorted car.

Hi Andy,
I would probably get a W210 E55 diff and fit the LSD kit to that. As you say will keep it all matching and keep my car on the road while the diff is being built up :thumb:

Will sort out a agreed valve when it is due up fairly soon

are you cutting floorpan in the back to fit the new diff?
E55 housing seems to be a bit larger than c43 housing

that's what AMG had to do on w202 C55 they cut the floorpan to fit the larger style diff

I would of thought the casings would be the same size. But if I have to cut or modify anything then I wont bother. Got too many other projects on the go :thumb:

Latest mod is a pair of rear door window blinds :D

be careful with these blinds, they break easily.
outer plastic fasteners easily break if you pry too hard on doorcards

these blinds were not a good construcion made , blinds should have minimum 2 hinges where they attach to window ontop, blinds sag very much sideways

Really good project this, quality of work and attention to detail is A1

Just read through entire thread...what an effort this has taken!! you deserve the car of the show award from weekends event.

Well done..

And it won BEST CAR IN SHOW at Benz on the Green :thumb:

So C43AMG won. Then a C43AMG won.

Fix...
