My door has dropped

I once had a Volvo where the checkstrap jammed solid stopping the door closing. I had to do something..so it was Slam time..
It closed but ripped the door tearing right upto the hinge.
I had to have a new one under warranty...:D

WIll have another look tomorrow in the light. I will put the window all the way down aswell. The door definitely does not want to close just before it should as if it springs out before it gets the catch. Will update tomorrow. Cheers guys

Open the window fully and shut the door. Check all the door gaps and check the door alignment compared to the other side. If it's ok the start checking the window adjustment. You need to get the door right before making any changes to the window.

will have a go tomorrow. cheers

Had a play with the door for about an hour with the window up and down. Moved into a larger parking space so i can open the door fully as was a little tight yesterday.
When the window is down the door closes easily like it should, no force needed either. With the window fully open it is as i said yesterday, it needs a hefty force so i think it is the window that needs adjusting, rubbers all look ok.
So do i just need to remove the door card and play with those adjusting bolts and sliders.

Do not mess with the settings - the hinge and latches are highly unlikely to suddenly have moved.

Try some oil on the hinge pins - move door back and forth to ensure oil gets fully down into both hinges.

If you have let the door swing open it could have caused some damage to the door strap position.

See what the difference is with roof open a bit and then closed.

Drivers door on coupe are always a bit difficult to close cleanly due to one thing only - the excellent air seal of the coupe interior.

The roof test will prove that.
