Those people in the photo can clearly see you're having problems due to lack of ESP, and all they can do is video it??!!

Jeremy Beedle has a lot to answer for everyone wants £250.

Nice pic.

In my W211 how do i know whether the ESP is on? Is it when the yellow light is on or off?

You would've thought they would have given their shirts up for extra traction..

I'm so glad i have a manual... thats so easy to do ... :D, i love that smell of michelin in the mornin

When the light is on you have switched it off, when it's flashing like mad is when its working overtime.

I always thought my car couldn't do this...until I got the hang of it...
I can now count to 11..;)

Losing your ESP has caused your throttle ankle to go rigid?

I felt my ESP work really hard for the 1st time, I booted it out of a junction on a wet greasy road, back end came swing out (desired intention) and it cut the power dramatically and I felt it brake violently as well.

I'm impressed if I see the traction light flicker in the big bus...

It would be nice to be able to do that though.....

or seconds thoughts I guess / gearbox and tyres take a hamering...

:)

There's a challenge. I managed it in both BMW X5's although it was a bit silly. It involves turning into a corner with your foot on the brake, the back end will swing round, just be ready to catch it.

Apologies for the late response. It's that Fantastic Contraption site's fault.

My ESP made itself known in the Sierra, while coming into a corner I knew ahead of time was faster than it should have been, but nothing unmanageable. Or, usually. Then I saw there was a layer of sand covering most of the corner, but still, wasn't much concerned. I'd just let it slip a little and pick it up by borrowing a bit of the other side's lane. I could see there was no traffic, so other than ticking-off a few of my own mental scorecard's driving score points, there would be no issue.
I'd not even thought of the ESP. What am I supposed to be, psychic? None of my Datsuns would have been bothered by a bit o' slip.
Well. When Karl's stepchild realized something was amiss, and that it wasn't really Stirling at the wheel, all kind of conniptive fits began in the chassis, and as the little frightened triangle in the dash told me I was no longer driving, all I could think of was the footage of that Airbus plowing merrily into the trees when it tried to correct the pilot's poor flying.
I suppose it "saved" me. Or, would have done for someone unfamiliar with simple (and slight) countersteering. But I must say, I'm sure they could see under my sideskirts at the time. It sure didn't feel smooth.
