Having owned our little MB for only about 7-8 months ive not had the pleasure of visiting a main dealer until today.
Over the months ive read many horror stories on here about how various things have gone wrong, or the appalling service people have recieved, so had mixed thoughts but decided to keep an open mind.
The car was booked on for its free Spring health check (it need new wipers) and to check a problem i had a couple of weeks ago when the battery went flat one night.
After a brief chat and a nice cuppa i went for walk around to drool over the cars i'll never be able to afford.
One more cup of tea later the car was ready to go.
They ran a diagnostic check but there was no codes etc stored to indicate why the battery went flat, it was also in good condition and charging well. (Its not gone flat for 2 weeks now)
Adusted a front wheel bearing as it had a tiny bit of slack new wipers, washed and vacumed.

All for a total cost of £0

I really expected them to charge for the diagnostic check but no,

Obviously this was a tiny job compared to what some cars are in there for, but credit where credit is due, i couldnt fault them.

The Bristol dealer has had some bad press in recent months with customers cars being used rather enthusiasticly etc but i would happily return.

Thanks for posting. There are good and bad dealers, and even good dealers have bad days. I was looking at the Spring Health Check online earlier, I could do with free wipers ;)

They are breaking you in gently, pleased you had nice visit, and got the problems sorted, wiper blades changed under warranty no charge that is new, lets hope all your visits are all as good as this one

I find it all too easy to just criticise on forums, ive done it lots in the past on varoius sites so thought id turn over a new leaf:)

That's quite impressive - my dealer quoted £86.40 to adjust mine at last service. Indie said they were fine.

When I first picked up my car it developed a rattle in the adjustable seat belt mount booked it in for inspection.
And I could not fault the service I got from MB Macclesfield, tea and biscuits whilst I waited for my car.
After about an hours wait I got the car back rattle free and they even cleaned it and put tyre shine on.

Just recently had to have some pads and disc's fitted only had car three months so they paid the fee for the discs and I copped for the pads, very pleased with that.

Upto now I have had only good experience with MB.

Being a cynic and somewhat of a pessimist, it does cheer me up to see stories like this. I'm in the service industry, and bend over backwards to help and assist our clients, as they pay for their service, and more often than not in other industries I come across, service is poor.
Good for these MB guys.

Taken my "E" and the wife's "A" to MB Swansea on numerous service visits and found them great, no problems.

Hello Adrian

About the "never." I thought that about thirty yrs ago, looking at my Autoexpress double page pull-out of a metallic green Audi 2oE thinking I'n never be able to afford that. Princess Diana had the convertible at the time. I had a ok car, 2 yr old Vauxhall SRI - then a couple of yrs later got the Audi a year old, then a new v6 mondeo gihia and recently bought a brand new/cash GLE amg-line - it will happen - never say never:thumb:
