June 2002 SLK32///AMG. OCT 2007 CLK350 AMG Sport Convertible.
They reckon this treatment that I've had done inside and out is the bees knees. It cost me £300 to have the new addition to the family, (the CLK350), done and £40 for my SLK32. (I haven't yet worked out why the price difference yet  Anyway they both look fab, and they reckon they won't require much in the way of spit and polish for 5 years!!. (Yeah right )

I reckon I'll have it done once every year at least, at £40 quid a throw depending on how well it lasts. The body work I have to say, feels is smooth as silk since it's been done. Better than the day I bought either car.

Nyc..HIS and HERS motoring :) do u keep em wrapped up indoors or out in the bare elements....?

I had my rav4 done when we bought it, they give you a believable demo etc but the finish on the colour is what interested me.. I think you just more or less rinse them every weekend and then their all shiny n new lyk they are now...

Well the 32amg stays in doors when not in use, the CLK on the otherhand, lives out doors for the moment while accommodation gets sorted for it. This will probably take the form of nicely constructed car port in the immediate future while I consider how I’m going to make my garage into a double garage, without a)killing the Koi pond and b) How it can be constructed in such a way so you can drive in and open the car door so as you can get out of the car without damaging it or yourself! That or you live in the car until its time to take it out again

As regards general maintenance now its been treated, it is as you say, you just throw a bucket of water at it, rinse and leather off, job done thats if I'm to believe what the man said at MB :)

like the grill on the SLK

Thanks,

I've had the car from new and thought it might up date the front end a tad. I kinda got bored with the Braun electric razor look of the original grill, and for £125.00 including postage from an outfit in California, it’s hardly a financial catastrophe if it looked naff

Happily I don't think it does, and, as it turns out, you aren't the first to comment positively on it either :) Though I feel sure there are some who would see it otherwise. But then that's fine too, each to their own as the saying goes. ;)

Hi i"m a virgin to the forum,be gentle. Just buying my third car in 19years so i don"t have much to contribute, but the 180k Est sport i am picking up in 2 weeks is being treated in side and out. I used to enjoy cleaning a car but as joints wear out (mine not the car) it becomes hard work.I don't plan on keeping this one as long, but,who knows!!
PS At least my present MB C200sport Est 11yrs old, i have had it for 9 yrs. just passed MOT no probs, so garage will take it. bless.
