my hand brake...

My hand brake (the one you operate with your foot - who's bright idea was that??) :crazy: will hold on a very slight incline but if you try to put it on to hold on a real hill it's worse than mr frosty's credentials on a hot day.

It's up for it's MOT in a few months, will they insist it's perfect and therefore fail it on that?

They're easy enough to adjust.
 
At the beginning of the year, when my car was being loaded onto a truck, a friend told me the parking brake wouldn't hold the car.

It passed an MOT a couple of months later, with no problems.

You should have 7 or 8 clicks on the ratchet. More or fewer and the brake needs adjusting. Apparently quite straightforward, if a little involved...
