Hi Slippy,

Will have to find out the wheel info you need. They are standard AMG wheels - factory fit.

'comand' is the factory head unit (double din) that has the large screen with nav + tv, phone option. The best person to talk to on here is Alfie from comand.co.uk. Yours is a facelift car so should not be too much of an issue to swap over.

Hi Ash,
I dont think mines the facelift car as is not got the indicators in the mirrors.
Just looked at comand on e bay & Im not too fussed about it, especially at that price but I do want a new head unit soon, cant cope with poor sounding music.

Hello and welcome to the forum Slippy. May I add to what comports has said is that Comand is a option but may I suggest having a look at aftermarket double din units too. Pioneer models seem to be jam packed with features and have a slightly bigger screen in comparison to comand since they are touch screen. Depending on models even the AVIC D3 is a generally cheaper option than comand and does have a fair bit more to offer than comand does. They also look fairly standard once fitted, have a look at my previous post in this thread. If however you are after a OEM look the comand is the way to go.

Just checked this thread again and seen a load of replies so a big thanks to everyone that could be bothered to say something !

Slippy: Great to see another Quartz CLK around here ! Im still not used to looking outside and seeing it, and I totally agree about the colour . . . Its a breath of fresh air having owned so many black and silver cars.

You had any more thoughts about wheels ? I took a look at the 17's from a w209 CLK High-Lo has and they look great. My only concern is they look a little too similar to the ones i currently have.

Im tempted to go for something like the AMG's on Comports CLK, what I want to do is give it a sportier look.

If anyone else has any suggestions for a tasty set of alloys that will suit the W208 CLK let me know your thoughts !

You are right, the ones on High-lo`s car do look very much like yours but the doo look great & so do the AMG ones on Comports.

In that case if its sound quality your after through a standard sized head unit look no further than Alpine or again Pioneer units. What sort of budget would you be looking to spend on a head unit, I could recomend good ones within the price range.

I have an old (about 4 years) Alpine in the Porsche & that has been spot on & had a Pioneer in my old 190E again, a good unit. Dont want to go daft & dont need loads of features just a nice clear bassy sound £100 - £150 ish.
Just been quoted £250 by a local ICE specialist to have all 6 door speakers replaced with Hertz speakers & Dynamat in the doors. Does this sound reasonable?

Slippy: Yep, totally agree with you! The ones on ebay are very nice but there is no way im going for a rim with polished parts on it, the finish just doesnt last and I dont want to keep having them refurbed.
