My SL60 AMG and its Restoration

Good to see the finished article Jay. Looking good. I've not been on here for a while as I talk a bad fall off my mountain bike.

The last thing I did to mine was a clear Dinitrol wax by chassisclean. It's amazing how the list of little jobs add up. I think I've spent around £3K on mine so far and there are still a few minor things that want doing.

Did you end up keeping yours Ian?

I have 3 kids, 4, 8 and 9. They all fit in no problems.

All 3 in the back? I think there is just two belts?

Presumably two in the back and one in the front.

We're similar now in that we have 3 kids, so can't use the SL for trips with the whole family. But they can all use the back seats OK. My mum (who is considerably older ) has also been in the back, on the nearside (with the front passenger seat moved forward to give some extra legroom).

Thats what I would presume too - its causing me an issue as now will have to run three cars if I do get an SL.

I love this 60 - one of the n nicest cars on here.

Yep we have two other vehicles that seat 5 (6 in the case of the Vito), so not really a problem for us.

I was just looking at your replacement parts list again Jay. The plugs on mine have been changed but not the boots. Is this something worth doing or a waste of money if the existing ones look ok? I only ask as I am about to order some other bits so could add them to the order.

Also, regarding polishing the centre console. Mine has some fairly minor scratches to the lacquer but at some stage I would like them removed if it's not too much trouble. Do you have any recommendations in this regard?

Not worth changing the boots, i just did them and then realised werent needed.

This is the guy that does all my wood work... absolutely spot on every time.
