Since the injectors were changed I've noticed a slump in fuel economy. A run to work returns about 33mpg (used to be about 39-41 mpg) and between fill-ups averages about 32mpg (used to be about 39mpg). It's also been a little bit sluggish.

Mercedes in Macclesfield who are always extremely helpful (superb) say the engine management system has gone ! There is a replacement unit due in 5-10 days so it's got to go back in (under warranty).

The thing that slightly intrigues me is they seem to want to encourage as much work as possible. Each time it has been in they'll ask "Is there anything else we can look at ?" Do they have some vested interest in doing as much work as possible under the Merc warranty or maybe they want me to choose them for the next service (or when I have to buy the warranty).

Whatever the reasons they have been great with me. They pick the car up at work and drop it off at the end of the day - no hassle whatsoever !

Of course they do, they get paid for warranty work and your not going to say no to having anything replaced free are you?, you have to remember that the dealers and manufacturers are not the same entity.

They get abot £50 per hour for warranty work unless it is a set job that is charged by the book if being done under warranty (regradless to lenghth of time spent) but some Stealers such as Gr**n**ks charge by the hour regardless and if they finish a job quicker than the book time they'll charge the book time to maximise their revenue for non warranty work.

Damned if they do!!!

Damned if they don't!!!!!!

Hi Culpano,
I'm pleased to read of another satisfied customer. It is good service pure and simple' Who cares, who makes what from what??

You'll read on this forum how members take their vehicles to the dealer and get treated like a second class citizen. They quite rightly moan.

You get extremely good service and we should all simply be taking note of the location of the dealer and thanking you for passing on the details of your experience. :bannana:

Thanks for the info,
John
