Mystery bonnet Star - what's it from?

Found this in my spares & cannot for the life of me remember what's it's from or where I got it. All I know is it's not for a W201, W124 or W123. I want to ebay it as I have nothing it'll fit, but need to know what to call it.

Measures approx 45mm across the laurels.

You say it's not for a W124 but it looks identical to the one on mine. It even measures the same so my guess is it's a facelifted W124 where the star is mounted on the bonnet rather than the radiator chrome.

Isnt that for a newer model car.

The older models with the star on the grill , didnt they have a plain chrome base?

I'd go along with Ray/Fuzzer, looks like the facelifted W124 or W202/W210 etc star to me

If it is complete, it is not from an early W124, they had a big spring assembly below the chrome radiator grill. It looks to me very similar to the W126 S class.

That's a possible.

Fuzzer& Geoff are right - I know the pre facelift 124s used the same bonnet star as the 201s & it was a chrome base with no blue which slots into the hole on the top of the grille.

Do the post face lift 124s use the same star as 126s & 202s?

Yep I think W124 facelift, W202, W210 etc are all the same

i'd say its a newer model car, seen one in my carpark yesterday, had the mercedes benz around the badge, bonnet mounted, the older ones have a chrome bezel and are grill mounted with seperate merc badge. how much you want for it.?
