e classs coupe
Hi All first post here i appreciate any reply in advance. last month i purchased the above car reg plate ls60exk E250 class coupe blue efficiency, it has audio 20 with a single cd player an colour screen.

i wish to add sat nav, i have been to my local Mercedes garage customer service was very poor and they said i need nav-20 upgrade but they can't get me one.
or to change the cd to a multi changer and get the becker system which would be near £2000 from mercedes which i would never recoup upon future sale of my vehicle?

i have found this on ebay not sure if this will help me?

Genuine Mercedes-Benz - Becker Map Pilot Sat Nav System | eBay

Id be grateful for any information on what i need and where i can get it?

or any reputable companys that can help me with this I'm in blackpool so north west england would be helpful.

thanks

Firstly that price for the Becker is way too much- you can get it for under £300. Does your car have the dock in the glove box already? If so I think you can just buy the unit and plug it in.
Someone with more knowledge than me can probably help more.

no mate only got audio jack in the glove box?

cheers for your input

I know it doesn't look great but buy a tom-tom and spend the money you save on a good night out. The tom-tom will probably have more features than the Mercedes equivalent and the maps are way cheaper to purchase.

i no what your saying but if i wanted cheaper id of got myself a vauxhall :-/

The Navigation-20 is for Audio-20 NTG4 system and the Becker Map pilot for the NTG4.5 system which was fitted from about late 2011 on E class.

Almost all UK E class with NTG4.5 Audio-20 have the Map-Pilot pre-wire, so just a case of plugging it into the cradle in the glovebox. MB sell the Map-pilot for £500. You can buy it from Becker on Amazon for a lot less

Your dealer should know the difference :-(

Nav-20 is *expensive*. The parts are about £1200 now and it takes some hours to install because theres loads of stuff to fit into not very much space. But it gets you an iPod kit too.

For the price you will pay for a Nav 20 kit would you not be better to install COMAND?

That would add value to the car as well.

im not sure what COMAND is mate?

That is the large screen infotainment/nav package....

The £2000 option new and the one everyone looks for when buying used.

Alfie at www.comand.co.uk can run through the differences for you between nav20 and comand ntg4.

In brief nav20 gives you 7 digit postcodes and an integrated iPod kit using the existing small stereo display. Comand has a larger display, and people pay more for cars with the comand system.

If your car is 2010 or 2011 it can have comand ntg4 or ntg4.5. 4.5 is much better with USB support, 7 digit postcode, but much more expensive than comand ntg4 which only has 5 digit postcode. The optional media interface (integrated iPod kit used from comand screen) is great but if you do that and comand it's quite a lot more than Nav20
