Navigation 20 UMI or ECE

I have been waiting for the Navigation 20 UMI interface for the Audio 20 to become available for the W207 E class Coupe.

As it is now available I have been looking into the options but have noticed the Navigation 20 ECE as well. Can anyone explain the difference, or is it just a different name fro the same unit.

Also I am looking to do some stereo upgrade and was wondering if any one could help by explaining what audio outputs are available from the Audio 20, and does the UMI interface enhance these options or not?

Navigation-20 wont enhance your audio but it will give you european wide Navigation with UK 7 digit postcode support plus media interface for ipod/USB.

You could add a DAB tuner (assuming your audio-20 is a changer variety).

AFAIAA Navigation-20 ECE is the european version. Same name really.

Mercedes units dont have RCA output so if you plan to install aftermarket audio you could use something like a MTX REQ, JL Audio Cleansweep, Audison Bit One, Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty etc to connect amplifiers to the factory headunit.

I am planning on the Pioneer AXM P90 to feed in to the setup I have I was just hoping I might have another option outside of the highlevel inputs from the speakers.

Thanks for you reply, my unit is just the standard Audio 20 without the changer. I only really want the USB media interface but from my investigations its either Autochanger with UMI or Nav 20 with UMI. As the autochanger would not be used but NAV will I was planning on the NAV option unless you know any other options I have. I was fairly sure the NAv 20 would not change the outputs but I thought I would ask the question.

There is no external autochanger option. The headunits now come in two models, one with either single cd/dvd or one with built in cd/dvd changer. Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes iPod solutions :: C, GLK, E, E Coupe class (W204, W212, W207)

Obviously the other option is ditch the audio 20 and go with an aftermarket double din unit.
