I noticed today that the nearside de-mist wing mirror was not working.

Can anyone assist on how to remove mirror to check wiring etc as I do not want to crack the glass

Many thanks

Sorry,

It's a c class 270cdi sportpack estate aventgarde 04 facelift. Lovely car

Mirror glass held in by a clip along the top.

The back of the glass has a circle that fits onto a round swivel thing (so you can move the mirror). At the to of the circle on the glass is a metal clip.

Push bottom of the mirror in and look in through the top edge with a torch. You will see the thin metal clip (like a straightened out paper clip) and it has a little bend in it. If you hook that with a screwdriver and twiddle gently it will unclip and mirror glass can come out.

Reasssemble the clip onto the mirror glass when done and you will see how it can bend up and hook onto a piece of plastic so the clip does not get in the way of the circle but is held out of place by the piece of plastic. Put mirror glass back on and using screwdriver so the clip just pops over that piece of plastic and straightens thus holding glass in place

At some point I will photo this !!

Many thanks,

I will try this at weekend, the other question is the best place to get a replacement one without breaking the bank,if the wires are intact.

Regards.
