Need urgent help with wiring up illuminated door sills for W202 anyone in North West?

Right, I've looked at the HOWTO section for this and pluggers is a great help, however, need some help with correctly 'tapping' the right wires and connecting them to the sills.

Have got cable splicers and connectors, tried to wire up but to no avail. Anyone in the Merseyside or North West area willing to pop up some time and give me some pointers on what I am doing wrong.....?

Help much appreciated

I had similar probs turned out the cable splicers were at fault. The metal clip inside the splice itself is probably set too wide the same as mine were,A little tweek with some pliers to close both ends in worked a treat for me.

I've tried wiring the driver's door to start and I dont think I've tapped the right wire. The sill isnt lighting at all. Any chance I could get some help?

First do try crimping the splice a little tighter as it might be struggling to pierce the sheathing on the wires,The relay wires I think are slightly thinner in diameter you see.
Im struggling to remember all the details but It should be a grey wire with a red tracer for the power(I think its the headlight feed wire).I pulled out all the wires I could and used a clothes pin and just pierced the sheathing a little on chosen cables and used a multi meter to check for a positive feed with no ignition key in.It just so happened to be the thickest wire and fit the wire splice perfectly. All the others were a slack fit.Make sure for the earth its connected to the terminal with 2 brown wires on the door switch.

So I need the earth wire to be connected to it aswell?
And should I cut the wire before the splicer is used?

Yes earth needs to be connected as well,Black wire on the relay to the 2 brown wires on the door switch.

Red wire on the relay to the positive feed in the car.

No dont cut any wires,It will lead to heartache in the end.If you go along the route of not using cable splices make sure you have the correct wires first and then only REMOVE the sheathing from a small area and solder the other wire to it. Similar to this photo. Then cover with appropriate sheathing.
