All you guys who's got a power rear blind installed in your cars.
I mean all models C-E-CLS-S-Class covered.
Can you please help me out?

I got my power rear blind installed recently by my MB factory trained MB guy.
Took him approx 6.5 hrs. to complete the work, most of the time was to remove the old parcel shelf and headrests and to tear that bloody new parcel shelf new a-sholes for speakers and rear seat latches and 3rd brakelight.

After he installed everything he then tested the powerblind to see if everything is aligned properly.
Looking from the outside, he told me that on the left side (drivers side) mesh is fully extracted and tight however on passengers side (right side) mesh is sagging and hanging a bit, you can see it on the attached picture. he tride to adjust the bolts from the trunk to pull the powerblind rail backward but it was to the end and could'nt be moved backwards anymore.
He told can't be done better this is the way it looks like, one side is hanging a bit loose.

We went outside and looked on 2 other customer cars a w210 E-class and a w220 S-class, we extracted the power blinds on both cars, mesh on the w220 S-class was hanging loose on both sides, the other car w210 mesh on drivers side was extracted correct being tight and the passengers side was sagging a bit.
Why is this happening mesh doesn't extract tight on both sides when it's folded out?

Can you please check on your cars (all MB's with power rear blinds) from the outside how your mesh looks like?

Wanna know if this is normal on w202 C-class?
Thanks for your help

He also told me the white plastic part hinge or bracket inside the lining for folding rear headrest was broken??
When I pressed the button to drop my headrests only left side fell down and the other side stayed in position couldn't take it down, when I did it manually the head rest got stuck in leaning backwards position, my mechanic told my I have to buy a new plastic hinge for right side, can this be bought separately from the stealer, is it expensive?

take a good look on both sides of your car below the extracted folding out metal armrails, you can spot if the mesh is saggy or folded out tight?
Maybe this is a corny syndrome on some cars not all?

Btw?
Is it a good idea to excersize meaning pull down and pull up the mesh by using the centre console button from time to time, so that the power motor doesn't get stuck or break down when this option is not being used for a very long time?

Thanks

Had a look this morning and none of the sides is saggy

thanks komsi.
i guess it only happens to some random cars, sunblind is being loose?

It should be tight really, otherwise it`ll be flaping about driving with the rear windows down

Checked mine and it is tight on both sides too.

I never drive with windows down, I am affraid for bumble bees getting inside the car, might get stung in the face or something?

I have rollerblinds on my rear doors and they are also a bit saggy on outer side, innerside is stretched and tight?

I guess this is normal for power rear blinds that some might be stretched to the max and others might have a loose sunblind mesh?

Get someone to operate the switch and when the blind is rolling up see if you can push it up a tad higher by hand on the sagging side.

Regarding the side blinds its a common trait !

yesterday my mechanic unbolted the nuts in the trunk and he told me to pull and extract the upper rail to the max touching the headlining, both sides are now touching the headlining, can't pull it more.

You see the attached picture with the red w202 and the door is open, the outer side where the mesh is cut to follow the lines ow the doorframe and window, the cut part is a bit flappy hanging loose, it's the same symptom on my powerblind on passengers RIGHT side.

Hi,
Both mine are not so much as tight, but there is no slack in them if you know what I mean.
6.5hrs seems an awfull long time to spend doing this, did he have any problems? removing the rear headrests for example?

I removed all the trim at the bottom to axxess wireloom, I also removed seat and side cushion to make the install faster.
It would have taken an extra hour if I didn't do this pre-job to help him out, my sills were sitting tight almost impossible to remove.

Tearing new holes on back the shelf :bannana: took some time, he had to measure up where to cut, he didn't want to follow the marks back of the parcel, he cut a bit smaller holes than recommended.
Anyway I'm very happy he did this job for me.

Took 2 new pictures of both sides, left side is tight the other has a slack.
Second picture shows the slack.

It's nothing wrong with this blind, it works perfectly, only thing is the damn slack.

Have my old centre console 4 sale if anyone is interested?
