I want to improve the ice in the CL and as I mainly listen to the radio on my commute I decided to look at DAB solutions.

A new device on the market is a black box that will (allegedly) send graphics to comand, use wheel controls and the cars aerial

I've asked the installer to get in writing it will mate with the CL 215 and perform adequately with a screen aerial - they re confident but I am not so sure.

I didn't get the make / model but will wait to see what transpires.

Whatever is fitted I cannot accept extra screens and controls cluttering up the dash

Sounds rather interesting - please keep us informed

It will be the new MediaDAB interface from Celsus Ice.

Just googled it, looks interesting - do you have any experience of it?

Originally heard about it last November but there have been delays and it has only just come out. There are videos of it working in various cars on youtube. I havent used one myself.

Richard from Comand Online is helping develop a DAB add on which will be like the mCar interface so connect directly to the MOST bus and work like a factory tuner. This would be a better option but I dont know when it will be available to purchase yet.

We looked at this when the Celsus rep came in to see us.

It is an FM repeated solution so the frequency range will be limited. It looks good but isnt a true integrated solution with full steering wheel control. Of all the FM based systems its probably the best.

Richard (Comand) fitted a DAB to my CL . I can't remember the make, works very well.
