I just enquired at my local MB dealer how much it will cost for replacement front and rear bumpers for my c36. I was quite suprised that he quoted £270 (front) £238 (rear) in primer, both +vat. I was expecting much higher!

I often check with the dealer first .

The original brakes for my wifes car were about £15 more expensive overal than euro car parts and that was for Discs, pads, sensors and cleaner.

Same for my car parts I have enquired about seem quite reasonable.

ditto here always try the dealers first as often said e bay and other sites are not always cheaper but they doe sound a bit of a bargin chack they are the correct one regards jon

Yep, never ever discount the dealer on price, many times they come up trumps and you know what you're getting quality wise

thats a awesome price, considerng that a pair of second hand ones sold on ebay for £440....

Yep, but they were '43 ones, which as we know cost quite a lot more! ;)

Also many would agree look better too :D

I prefer the c36 styling tbh.

It would still be £500 plus Vat and spraying ? (£200 maybe??)

So the second hand one assuming they dont require spraying were a good buy?

oh and being off a C43 they would be quicker :)

So all in all the C36 bumpers would be cheaper from the stealers that is?
Hey altreed could you PM me your chassis number so I can check the price at my local stealers. If its that cheap I may as well settle for them rather than pay astronomical prices for a C43 kit.

C36 kit looks more aggressive IMO, and more sporty.

C43 one is designed to make the car look more standard, not as aggressive.

thats not a bad price tho!

Anyone have any pics / sites where I can have a look at the C36 bumpers on a car ?

There are a few pictures on here about half way down the page.

Thks....just looked on Autotrader aswell.....definately a better looking set of bumpers than the C43 in my opinion.....some chrome on it aswell but you have to change the side mouldings aswell so that the chrome line follows all the way through I guess.

Now the million dollar question....has anyone fitted this bumper onto the facelift model and are there any complications ?

Bumpers are basically a straight-swap but the brackets need to be adjusted. We had to file some slots into the brackets to fit C43 bumpers to Koolvin's pre-facelift W202 (reverse of what we're discussing here). Otherwise it was a pretty easy job.

Only thing is though, I guess youd have to get some side strips with the chrome strip in it or else it may not look right....what do you think ?

If you're getting the bumpers painted then have the chrome painted too :)

Otherwise you could just fit elegance side strips but beware they cost a lot new, breakers might be a good place to try but they might be scratched etc.
