New c36 AMG Bumpers

So who has the Part numbers for us to go and ask our local stealers!!!!!

Raj

Those prices cant be right,
The part number for the front bumper is HWA2028850625, the inchcape site shows a £804 reduced to £724.
The price of a sport bumper is £279 reduced to £251.

Rear bumper HWA2028850425 £526 dwon to £473.
Sport bumper is £317 down to £285

On the older card the parts depatrment have to look at the additional notes before quoting a price. Seems to me off the chassis they have just priced you up a set of normal bumpers.

mhmmm, he did say initially that I was not quoting the correct chassis number or was it an import. However, he did come back with a price on the engine part I needed, hope it is the right part when I collect on monday

Last night I was to collect my parts from the Stealership, I have been slightly disheartened with some of the comments made on this thread. So I thought it prudent to gather any part codes I could off the bits I was buying. I managed to identify a couple of codes on my ribbed belt and armed myself with that.

As it turned out they had ordered in the wrong belt and the bumper price they offered was indeed wrong, I remember him saying £700+ for the front and £500+ for the back bumper  eediots.

I am glad I had not collected the parts in blind faith that they could identify the parts I actually needed, what with them being the manufacturer and that, as my car would have been very dismantled at the garage for over 24 hours, unnecesserily :@

I just rang up as I need a C36 front bumper and the price is £757 + VAT. Unpainted..

Sheesh, I thought for a few moments after reading through this thread that my WALD kit was not value for money,...... but the price of one AMG bumper works out to the same as what I paid for the whole kit......

That's a hefty price tag! The c43 ones from the stealers were quoted to me at £500+vat...

Then again when you add sideskirts and rear bumper and all the VAT the full c43 kit adds up to £2100  It doesn't seem that cheap anymore...

Your best bet is to register your number or address or both with a couple of salvage yards/breakers who get the odd MB in or are specialists in MB like dronsfields..... If you're lucky like chrispy who got a C43 kit, you'll make a hefty saving....

Failing this, rather than going down the route of fitting an AMG kit, you could fit the facelift front and rear bumpers along with the sideskirts which will be again quite alot less than the C43/C36 kit and you'll give your car a more updated look.

£2100 and the bumpers come unpainted, so put on top of that another 400 - 500 quid and you're looking at the price of a C36 and some C43s, hardly worth all that expense.

Indeed. Not sure what to do as I also want to get a SEC or something in the future as a weekend car, so I don't want to spend too much on this which will end up being the everyday car.

I probably will just end up face-lifting it.

All depends on shipping costs to the UK (Which if I understand tend to be quite hefty!)

Well, the other option is to buy this, when it is relisted (if it isn't relisted you could make him an offer - the only problem being collecting it):

Bearing in mind that yours is a similar model to mine, the only difference being that you're lucky to have the rear headrest mechanisms. You could take the bodykit and the rear window mechanisms and switches, centre armrest and fit them to your car. Fit everything you take off yours to this car and then sell it on for whatever you get for it..... I reckon it could cost you alot less than the price of the bodykit and separate bits and bobs - looms and things are expensive from the stealers.

Thats a really good idea actually, thanks! :D I'll have to hope it does get relisted, at a time when I have some cash :)

Id avoid those rep kits from the US, there quality/shape is questionable.
