hi all just bought a new e270 cdi avantgarde auto with lots of toy's

greenoaks quoted 4.3% discount

mercedes oxford 3%

car file got 8.45 through mercedes portsmouth

auto bytel started at 3% and ended up at 9.4%

intrestingly autobytel are owned by inchape, they also own mercedes oxford and mercedes coventry how will now supply the car.

final funny thing happend, when mercedes oxford found out (my local dealer) they offered the same price.

apparently both car file and autobytel said large discounts are the norm on new mercs now, across the range new Ml are 3k off

My dealer didn't frown, he laughed. At the time I bought my W211 they were like Gold-dust and discounts were unheard of. He did give me a Very Generous Price for my 1999 E280 though.

I got no discount when I bought mine but the garage offered me £2,000 more than I paid for it as soon as it arrived. Apparently mine was the second W211 E320 cdi in the country so they had loads of people desperate for one.

How could your car be the second one in the country when DaimlerChrylser UK had 4 in its own customer fleet plus 3 press cars weeks before the E-Class was even launched in the UK?

Hope you did not get that info from the 'honest' salesman.

They had absolutely no E320 CDI's in RHD form as "Honest" John ( telegraph, website etc ) will tell you. He couldn't believe that I had got hold of a right hand drive one so quick as he nor any of his journalist freinds had driven a right hand drive one.
The deal to buy it from me unregistered was nearly taken up by me until I saw the car in the flesh and then I couldn't resist having it.
